The Power to Last!
GalaxyWest Motorsports is proud to announce that Longevity Global has
agreed to a sponsorship contract to market its Longevity Welders brand
with the team through 2011. The partnership will be a
multi-faceted relationship that will aid Longevity in promoting their
exclusive line-up of TIG, MIG, and ARC/Stick welders, plasma cutters,
and portable generators. In addition to the company
identification on the team's "Godzilla" Turbocharged Fuel Altered,
they will use a combination of Longevity products in their fabrication
shop.
Wes
Tarkington, driver and co-owner, comments, "We come across sponsor
opportunities in a wide range of industries. This one, with
Longevity, made so much sense that we didn't hesitate to put a package
together that would be mutually beneficial. With Longevity,
we'll have a great marketing partner for our racing efforts plus some
incredible machines to use in our shop."
"Being
a relatively new company," says Simon Katz, Sales Executive with
Longevity Global, Inc.,"We are hungry to get our products in front of
potential users in many, many disciplines. Wes and Aspen have an
incredibly exciting racing operation that will draw attention to our
brand name. In addition, Wes will be showcasing our equipment in
his day-to-day duties as a fabricator. We look forward to
introducing ourselves to the drag racing community and hope to make
friends out of those that shape the industry."

It was time for a
change. Time to finish a project that was conceived in mid-2003
after a catastrophic engine failure. Funny. This
rejuvenation of our much-anticipated turbocharged project comes on the
heels of a significant, yet less costly, engine problem. It also
marks a change of focus with our racing program. Gone are the
days of just building a "so-so" car to simply run bracket events.
Now we are racing to not just win rounds. We are racing for fun
and to take the next steps into a higher-visibility heads-up category
of drag racing.
As you may have
noticed, the monster engine isn't going into the familiar dragster
we've raced for a long while. For the first time in our racing
careers, we'll be taking a different type of car to the race track.
A brand-new altered has replaced the old, but awesome, dragster as the
flagship of GalaxyWest Motorsports. The new beast will allow us
to remain competitive in the super-fast bracket categories of Top
Dragster and Super Quick. It will also pave the way into one of
the most exciting independent racing series in the US-the Outlaw Fuel
Altered Association.
Our 114mm Garrett turbo
will be installed on the now 532 cubic inch big block Ford along with
a new alcohol injection system, complete exhaust system that will be
built in-house, and all of the necessary changes that need to be made
to accommodate the combination. How much power will it make?
A lot. How quick will the car go? QUICK!.
What will it sound like? Like a monster! All these
questions will be answered on the dyno and on the race track in due
time...the sooner the better.
There will be a
detailed chronicle of the entire re-build in blog form. We'll
also provide plenty of photos, technical information, and stories of
the trials and tribulations of the build. There is now a special
Turbo Project page set up with all the information and links so you
can follow along. Naturally, we'll be leaving some of the
information out...secrets!
Oh, no!!!! It's
GODZILLA!!
